BORREGO VILLAGE CAMPUS
PROPOSED
Building the Foundation
Wellsprings Community Foundation was formed to address a critical gap in retiree and workforce housing in Borrego Springs. Our mission is to advance a phased, mixed-income housing development that prioritizes deeply affordable retiree housing while also serving the essential local workers who sustain our community.
We are not seeking to urbanize Borrego Springs, but to strengthen it, ensuring that those who live and work here can continue to do so with dignity, stability, and long-term sustainability. Guided by a mission-driven development approach, we balance feasibility with community need, integrating housing, healthcare access, mobility, and climate resilience to build a lasting foundation of affordability for the people of Borrego Springs.

Proposed Borrego Village Campus
The proposed Borrego Village Campus is a phased development on a 22-acre donated parcel in the civic core of Borrego Springs, co-locating affordable housing with a planned County fire station and a planned community benefit organization. Situated close to several local churches, the Borrego Library, the sheriff's station, and the mall, this location will provide retirees and local workers with an easy way to live and flourish in the community.

The PLAN
Wellsprings Community Foundation is working to bring affordable homes for retirees and local workers to Borrego Springs on generously donated land adjacent to the library, county park, and the new planned fire station. More than a housing development, this project represents an investment in the future of our community, helping the people who live and work here continue to call Borrego Springs home while strengthening the local workforce and economy.
Ideally situated in the heart of Borrego Springs, the development will be within walking distance of the post office, restaurants, several churches, a laundromat, a hair salon, and other everyday amenities, making it easy for residents to remain connected to the services and community they rely on.
